This felt like a pretty standard horror movie in many ways (and upon checking, I see that it has indeed been adapted to screen).
As a book, it was okay. I really enjoyed the dark Irish fairy-tale feel. There were good aspects and moments of tension. And the twist at the end was a pretty good one. However, I found the pacing a bit slow—a lot of words, but not a lot happening, sort of thing.
Good, but not great, as a book. But I do think I'll watch the movie, because this feels like one of those books that might translate better to film.
