[Review] M.C. Higgins, the Great by Virginia Hamilton

Rich narration and authentic dialogue are both very evocative of the time and region that this story takes place. I had a clear picture in my mind of the area and the characters—almost like a glimpse back into history.

Solid writing, world-building, and character development. However, there isn't much happening in the story, so the pacing did feel pretty slow. But, as far as classics go, this one is a winner. I'm glad to have finally read it.

Favorite Quote:  Land's the basis of all power, see, and people hold on to their land.
