[Review] The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco

Very detailed worldbuilding, with a lot of emphasis on the society and social structure. Full of magic and diverse characters—a very Japanese geisha feel. Slow-paced... at times too slow.

And any book that promotes a male dominant/female submissive society is going to be a hard sell for me, if the characters are content conforming to the status quo and not rebelling against it. Although the women in this book are powerful, they do a bit too much kowtowing to men.

For me, this was just an okay book.
