[Review] Consort of Fire (Bound to Fire and Steel, book 1) by Kit Rocha

Oh my. Oh my. So much naughty fun. But this steamy romance is so much more than just the lascivious bits. I was in this one for the quality of the writing, the worldbuilding, the plot, and the characters. This had everything I want in a novel.

First, the language is gorgeous, decadent, and eloquent. The worldbuilding centers on a rich fantasy universe with magic, politics, and machinations. The romantic relationships are open and fluid—sexuality is celebrated, not shamed. The plot is engaging, with high stakes, filled with tension and intrigue, and a story about finding love and acceptance. Finally, the characters are diverse and dynamic, each unique and fully developed.

Very well written. Upon finishing this, I immediately located the sequel—not yet release, but I found it on NetGalley. Soon I will be starting book two! <grins wickedly>
