Another great continuation in the series. This story revolves around two new main characters, keeping things fresh and exciting.
This one has diverse characters, with the romance occurring between two men. There is plenty of action and intrigue. There are even some interesting architectural artifacts that make me wonder if some of Kingfisher's other books share a world with this series. (They do! I checked.)
Also, there is some good subtext. The species discrimination in this book parallels the real-world discrimination faced by many non-white, non-cis male individuals nowadays.
An engaging read that left me with chills at the end and a wild hunger for more.
