Fun and witchy. This second book in the series wasn't quite as fun and whimsical as the first, but it still tells an engaging story. If I'm honest, I really longed for more Shadow House. It was such an intriguing feature in the first book, that I missed it not playing such a dominant roll in the second. That being said, this second book's focus on different characters did make it feel fresh and new. And I really loved the portrayal of the two teenage children in this one. They were unique, interesting, and wise in a way unique to teenagers.
Lighthearted and supernatural, with a good amount of mystery and some clean, compelling romance.
