[Review] Pizza: The New Classics by Cider Mill Press

Published on 22 March 2025 at 14:13

I love pizza, and I generally make it at home a few times a month, so this book was instantly exciting to me. And holy wowza, I have received a thorough pizza-making education!

First off, I never knew there were so many variations of pizza crust. This book has recipes for many types, and it even tells you the best uses for each type. Then for the toppings... This book breaks up the recipes into regions. The most obvious example is pizzas from Italy, but there are also pizzas from all over the world, including America, Japan, etc.

Some of the topping combinations seem a bit weird. But it's pizza, right? It's not like I'd ever go out and order a Ham and Onion Ring Pizza, but if someone offered me a piece, I'd try it—because pizza! Basically, there's something for everyone in this book, from classics to modern takes on one of America's most beloved foods.

Note: I received this book as an ARC, post factum. It is was released January 14, 2025.
