[Review] Zin Mignon and the Secret of the Pickled Pig's Feet by Michael Daswick

Cute, lighthearted, silly and upbeat. This book is all about food, cooking, and the adventures along the road to running a restaurant. It is a bit outlandish, but it does do a good job of conveying the energy of the fast-paced, competitive, and sometimes pretentious restaurant scene, while simultaneously encouraging an interest in food and cooking.

I will say that the ending was rather abrupt, with many issues unaddressed. Most of the adults were portrayed as bumbling oafs. And this book does require you to stretch your willing suspension of disbelief. But it is a fun romp if you're looking for a middle grade book that focuses on cooking and the road to restaurant hell.
