[Review] Wish by Barbara O'Connor

I never knew there were so many way to make a wish! Sweet and hopeful, but with darker undercurrents of parental neglect.

I initially had mixed feelings about this one, as the main character has some anger management issues. However, given her situation, it fits. This story addresses neglect, but it also shows how new situations and environments can lead to family, friends, and stability. Sometimes our old lives are best shed in favor of a more positive situation.

Upbeat and hopeful. This is a story about personal growth and adaptability—making the most of life in the face of tragedy and discovering happiness in unexpected places.
