[Review] Starling House by Alix E. Harrow

Holy wowza! I love Alix E. Harrow so much. Her writing is phenomenal in a way that transcends description. I will simply say that she is a true wordsmith.

Fantastic worldbuilding and amazing character development. These characters are diverse, deeply defined, and imperfectly perfect. Harrow gives us ugly, broken, impoverished people that we can't help but fall in love with. Then she gives us a story that is not only socially relevant, but is also a dark and hauntingly beautiful love story filled with monsters. So, so much Wow!

Harrow's writing always makes me giddy over just how majestic language can be, but this is my favorite of her books so far. (Read the others too, because they're great).

5 stars (plus another couple dozen, because this one deserves it)

Favorite Quote: Dreams aren’t for people like me. People like me have to make two lists: what they need and what they want. You keep the first list short, if you’re smart, and you burn the second one.
