[Review] Swordheart by T. Kingfisher

There are some books I love. And on rare occasions, I will come across a book that transcends even that. This is one of those rare gems that supersedes love.

First, the main characters are fantastic. Halla's quirkiness and Sarkis's attentiveness are utterly endearing. I love them both so much, and very much wish that I can have my own Sarkis sword. Top notch character development.

Next, the plot is grounded and believable. There is tons of action and intrigue. There are good guys and bad guys and gray guys. And there is so much more potential for this story to continue. And I certainly hope that it does, because I want more. More and more and more.

And finally, I loved the romance. That feels like a very weird thing for me to say, since I tend to be indifferent to the romance aspects of most books. However, in this book it is a sweet, slow burn romance that is based on camaraderie, friendship, and time spent together—this is not love based on lust.

All in all, this book is absolutely swoonworthy. <3 <3 <3 It needs to be a series, because my heart is already breaking that there isn't more.
