[Review] The Two Towers (The Lord of the Rings, book 2) by J.R.R. Tolkien (1954)

A great continuation in The Lord of the Rings series. More exciting adventures. More intrigue and danger. More of the underdogs rising up to overcome. Great worldbuilding, lush details, and compelling characters. I loved Gollum in this one. He plays such a huge role.

I will say that this book felt slower than The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring. There were some very detailed histories that I kind of zoned out on. But overall, like the other two books, this one had me spellbound.

Note: As with the other two aforementioned books, I listened to this one via audio with Andy Serkis as the narrator. He is beyond amazing—best I've come across so far. I highly recommend him.
