Another memorable book by Robin McKinley. This one had a very interesting and unique premise with some delightfully clever details. Great world building and characters.
Ultimately this is a story about family (blood relations, step-relations, as well as our four-legged variety of family members), friendship, and community. It is a gentle reminder about the detriments of stereotyping and a hearty entreaty to remain vigilant against organizations that might present as helpful, but are actually detrimental to the community. Question, research, learn—never assume.
Half celebration and half warning, this book will get you thinking.
