[Review] Three Christmas Boxes published by McLoughlin Brothers (1880s)

Wow. What a brutal start to a book, especially a Christmas one. I loved the rhyming verses and the storytelling, but I didn't love the story. It does embrace the Christmas spirit of forgiveness and generosity. But, in my mind, anyone who perpetuates animal cruelty is a villain and deserves an equal return on their crimes.

So, while this is well-written, Christmassy classic, be well aware that it contains serious and unpunished animal abuse.
