There was so much to love about this book. It was very well written. Interesting and engaging plot. Quirky and diverse characters. Art with hidden messages. Nautical themes. Supernatural elements. And the setting—a smuggler's inn during Christmastime, where there is much mystery afoot!
In addition to the lighthearted nature of the book, Milford addresses the topic of adoption and some of the difficult emotions associated with being adopted. Done tastefully and with much care. A valuable and thoughtful addition to the story.
